Lefkes is one of the loveliest villages of Paros for many reasons. Lefkes isn't at the coast but at the central part of Paros built at an altitude of 300 meters. Stretched on a verdant hill covered with trees it offers a breathtaking view of Naxos island on the east. Lefkes used to be the capital of Paros and it is full of traditional & Venetian architecture dating back to the 15th century. The main road called "Ramnos" will take you all the way till the magnificent church of the Holy Trinity. From there you may continue along the Byzantine route (3-5 hours) all the way to the village of Prodromos and eventually the sea.
For me, as a local, Lefkes is my own personal way to "escape" Paros. Lefkes is a village that doesn't resemble any of the coastline villages. It creates an illusion of not being in Paros!
Tip! Make a stop at the traditional little square inside the village. Have some moments of tranquility with a Greek coffee and a traditional desert!
